The founders of NinePoint Advisors have over 15 years of experience working with some of the largest investment firms in the world. When clients spoke to us about concerns with conflicts of interest, the leverage and sheer size of these firms, we listened … and so we founded NinePoint Advisors.
Why NinePoint? NinePoint is based on the nine dot puzzle which first appeared in 1914 in Sam Loyd’s Cyclopedia of Puzzles. This puzzle asks you to draw four straight lines through nine dots without lifting your pen from the paper; the nine dots are arranged as follows:
if you spend some time trying to solve this, you will find you cannot connect these dots with only four lines UNLESS … you think outside of the box. Such as:
There are other solutions to this puzzle, but they all require you to draw lines outside of the dots.
In our effort to help clients, we try to identify what makes some investors successful and, of equal importance, why others fail. We also spent a lot of time doing something that Wall Street rarely does, we keep our investment approach very simple. We educate our clients to help them understand our approach and we steer clear of anything that requires a black box model, derivatives, or costly investment products.
So, in keeping our clients educated and working in a transparent manner, we are departing from typical advisors; we are standing next to our client base rather then next to a large investment bank; at NinePoint Advisors, clients really do come first.
